Underfloor Heating Insulation
How does underfloor heating insulation work?
The appropriate insulation board has a double-sided glass-fiber-reinforced cement layer providing a thermal insulation against unnecessary heat loss. When using the underfloor heating insulation, the downward heat losses with ordinary cable is reduced along with the heating times. With this in mind, when using insulation, the heat up time is significantly reduced. It has been estimated that there is significant energy savings of up to 65% during the heat up phase, and an estimated 20% of extra energy saved during operation due to reduced downward heat loss.
Where can I use underfloor heating insulation?
Our insulation boards can be used in almost every room; living rooms, bathrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, children’s rooms, conservatories and home offices. They can be used on most sub floors (concrete, cement screed, anhydrite screed, wooden sub floor, timber floorboard) but can only have tiles or natural stones as a floor covering. If you want to discuss your options of floor covering, you should contact one of our underfloor heating specialists for some free advice.
What type of underfloor heating system can I use with insulation boards?
Our underfloor heating insulation can be used with T2QuickNet, T2 Blue-10/m and CeraPro.
What quantity will I need?
First of all, you will need to measure the room area in m2. Then you will need to determine the actual area you want to heat, this is often referred to as the ‘free area’. The ‘free area’ is where the underfloor heating is to be placed, and not underneath kitchen cupboards, baths etc. You will then need to calculate the amount of boxes required from your area.
